Alright, so, this is my very first attempt of creating a written tutorial
and I really hope I made it be a decent one. Please forgive my mistakes and feel free to ask me anything that is not clear!
This tutorial shows you my way of painting a portrait. I work instictively and there are no specific steps I follow in the procedure. I mean, yes, there is a general order and certain tools but still everything depends on what effect I want to achieve in the artwork.
The colors I show you on the left, are the most common colors I work with in Normal Mode and in Multiply mode. In multiply mode I show you how they differ from Normal mode. (I use Overlay and Soft Light mode over other colors -I highly suggest you play with those modes and colors and see their effects!
I created Liv Tyler's portrait in photoshop CS4 with wacom tablet bamboo.
